Sunco & Frenchie is recalling its Terrafina Golden Raisins due to a potential allergen that could be life-threatening for some consumers, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The Morris County-based snack food manufacturer and distributor announced the recall Monday after routine sampling by food inspectors revealed the product contained sulfites, but was distributed in packages that did not reveal the presence of sulfites.
“People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to sulfites run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products,” according to the Pine Brook company’s recall announcement.
No illnesses have been reported, a quality assurance manager with Sunco & Frenchie said Thursday.
